The Boys Scouts of Americawas incorporated FEBRUARY 8, 1910.

Sir Robert Baden-Powell began the Boy Scouts in England tin 1908.


A hero of the South African Boer War, his men were besieged 217 days by an army of 8,000, but his  resourcefulness saved them.



His bookScouting for Boyssold 150 million copies.
 



In Scouting & Christianity,1917, Baden-Powell wrote:

"Scouting is nothing less than applied Christianity."


President Coolidge addressed the Boy Scouts, 1926:

"Trustworthy, loyal, helpful, friendly, courteous, kind, obedient, cheerful, thrifty, brave, clean, and reverent...

Those who...live in opposition to these standards...become slaves of their own evil doing, realizing the scriptural assertion that they who sin are the servants of sin and that the wages of sin is death 


Franklin D. Roosevelt greeted the Boy Scouts,1943:

"Those who help to make boys physically strong, mentally awake, and morally straight in these times deserve the appreciation of all."
